The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Monisha Chakraborty as Executive Director (ED), effective August 3, 2026.
In her new role, Chakraborty will lead two key operational portfolios: the Foreign Exchange Department and the Financial Markets Regulation Department, which oversee India’s cross-border capital rules and financial market regulatory frameworks.
