A new workforce study has highlighted the dual-edged impact of artificial intelligence on India Inc., showing that rapid AI integration is significantly boosting corporate efficiency and innovation opportunities while simultaneously driving up workloads and job demands.

    Key Findings from the Report:

    • Surging Efficiency Gains: According to Korn Ferry’s Workforce findings, an overwhelming 81% of respondents reported that AI has improved their operational efficiency, with 79% noting they are more productive compared to a year ago.

    • Expanded Scope for Innovation: About 80% of employees believe that technology has successfully created broader avenues for innovation and creative problem-solving within their roles.

    • The Catch – Heavier Workloads: These gains have come alongside a sharp rise in job demands. 78% of workers stated that their workload has increased significantly over the past two years, while 73% attributed a direct rise in their task volumes to AI integration.

    • Multi-Role Burden: Reflecting the shifting nature of corporate structures, nearly three-fourths (72%) of surveyed employees reported that they are now regularly managing the responsibilities of more than one role.

While Indian businesses have moved past the phase of questioning whether AI works, the findings point to an urgent need for organizations to balance efficiency metrics with sustainable workload management to prevent burnout.
