Kazakhstan’s premier financial hub, the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), is actively exploring a strategic partnership with India’s flagship financial services special economic zone, GIFT City (Gujarat International Finance Tec-City).
The proposed collaboration aims to foster closer financial and economic ties between Kazakhstan and India by facilitating cross-border capital flows, sharing regulatory expertise, and boosting bilateral investment opportunities. Leaders from both financial ecosystems are looking at ways to leverage mutual strengths—such as AIFC’s gateway role into Central Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region, alongside GIFT City’s growing stature as a global financial gateway for India. Such a partnership is expected to open up new avenues for banking, fintech innovation, and infrastructure financing between the two nations.
