The Four Pillars of Samsung’s Smart Cooling

Samsung’s newly unveiled climate ecosystem relies on four interconnected technologies to enhance indoor comfort and energy efficiency:

    1. Gentle “Still Air” Comfort

Traditional air conditioners often blow freezing air directly on occupants, causing a phenomenon commonly called a “summer cold.” Samsung’s WindFree™ technology bypasses this by dispersing conditioned air softly through nearly 10,000 micro-holes. Once the room hits the target temperature, the system transitions to a “still air” mode, maintaining a cool environment without any noticeable cold drafts.

    2. Dual-Stage Air Purification

With outdoor AQI levels frequently spiking in metropolitan areas, the ecosystem includes an optional PM1.0 purification panel on its 1-Way Cassette AC units.

    • Pre-filter: Captures large dust fibers and debris.

    • PM1.0 Electrostatic Filter: Traps ultrafine particles as small as 0.3 microns and uses an electrostatic precipitator (tested by Intertek) to sterilize up to 99% of trapped bacteria.

    3. SmartThings Connected Ecosystem

The entire climate setup interfaces natively with Samsung’s SmartThings platform. Homeowners can monitor power usage, toggle cooling via voice commands (using Bixby or other virtual assistants), and program automated routines using geo-fencing (e.g., turning on the AC when your phone is 2 km away from home).

    4. AI-Powered Efficiency ($15\%$ Energy Savings)

At the heart of the hardware are the DVM S2 Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) outdoor units. The system leverages machine learning to reduce energy use by up to $15\%$ through two key features:

    • Active AI Pressure Control: Learns local environmental patterns and indoor configurations to automatically optimize internal refrigerant pressure by up to $32\%$.

    • Active AI Refrigerant Analysis: Monitors internal gas levels in real-time, proactively alerting technicians if it detects leaks or anomalies.

    Real-World Blueprint: Gurugram Deployment

This technology has already completed its first large-scale real estate implementation at The Orchard (part of Central Park Flower Valley) in Gurugram. The commercial footprint spans 284 luxury residences supported by a massive 4,864 HP AI-enabled VRF infrastructure.
