The second leg of the Parliament’s Budget session kicks off today with a significant focus on regulatory reform. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to introduce the Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026, a move aimed at modernizing India’s business framework.

The proposed legislation seeks to streamline operations and enhance compliance standards by amending two foundational statutes:

    • The Companies Act, 2013
    • The Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) Act, 2008

This legislative push is expected to be a highlight of the session as the government continues its efforts to improve the “Ease of Doing Business” and refine corporate governance protocols.
