Google has emerged as India’s most attractive employer brand, closely followed by the Tata Group and Amazon, according to the findings of the Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) 2026.

The annual survey, which incorporates insights from over 1.75 lakh respondents across 34 global markets and nearly 3,500 participants in India, highlights a fundamental evolution in what job seekers value most. The report indicates that Indian professionals are entering the era of the “Balanced Employer,” evaluating companies based on overall workplace experience—including work-life balance, career growth, flexibility, and inclusivity—rather than financial compensation alone.

Top 10 Most Attractive Employer Brands in India (2026)

    3 Amazon
    4 Samsung India

    7 ITC Group
    8 Hindustan Unilever (HUL)
    9 Mahindra & Mahindra
    10 Dell Technologies

Shift in Priorities: Work-Life Balance Tops Salary

For the Indian workforce, work-life balance has overtaken financial compensation as the single most critical Employee Value Proposition (EVP) driver.

    • Work-Life Balance: 60%

    • Equal Opportunities: 59%

    • Career Progression: 55%

    • Salary & Benefits: 55%

    • Strong Employer Reputation: 53%

When defining what contributes to a healthy work-life balance, respondents cited a good work environment (52%), personal growth and fulfillment (40%), flexible work arrangements (35%), and health and wellbeing support (35%).

High Employee Mobility and Job Switch Drivers

The REBR 2026 report reveals significant talent mobility across the Indian corporate landscape:

    • 46% of Indian professionals plan to switch jobs within the next six months.

    • 32% of respondents have already changed their employer over the past six months.

    Top Reasons Employees Leave:

    1. Work-Life Balance Disconnect: 49%

    2. Lack of Career Growth: 42%

    3. Inadequate Compensation: 41%

Career advancement was identified as a primary trigger for younger demographics, with 43% of Millennials and 42% of Gen Z indicating they would leave an employer due to limited growth opportunities, compared to 39% of Gen X.

“The post-2020 era has fundamentally rewritten the psychological contract between employers and employees. Retention is no longer about strengthening isolated touchpoints; it requires closing the gap between financial reward and everyday fulfilment,” said Narayan Iyer, Managing Director of Randstad India.

    Hybrid Work Takes Center Stage

Work models in India have solidified around hybrid arrangements:

    • ~60% of respondents work remotely at least part of the time, with 42% following a hybrid work model.

    • Fully remote arrangements have dropped sharply to 18% in 2026, down from 47% in 2021.

    • Flexible arrangements remain most popular among younger cohorts, utilized by 63% of Gen Z and 62% of Millennials, compared to 51% of Gen X.

    Digital Talent Demands Competitive Compensation

While the broader workforce prioritizes work-life balance, digital and tech talent displayed distinct preferences. A overwhelming 73% of digital professionals placed competitive compensation as their top priority, and 55% cited limited career growth as their main reason for exiting an organization—substantially higher than operational (40%) and traditional professional talent (43%).
