Welspun Corp Limited has secured the largest single order in its history—a mega contract valued at approximately $1.8 billion (~₹17,200 crore)—to supply line pipes from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA.
The company announced the landmark win in a regulatory disclosure on Thursday, triggering an immediate market reaction. Following the news, Welspun Corp’s shares surged over 12–15% during intraday trading, touching a record high of ₹2,319.80 on Indian exchanges.
Multi-Year Visibility and Order Book Surge
The newly awarded contract expands Welspun Corp’s total consolidated global order book to an unprecedented $4.4 billion (~₹42,100 crore).
Because the project is scheduled for execution across FY 2027–28 and FY 2028–29, it locks in high production schedules and long-term capacity utilization for its North American operations well into the coming years.
Strategic Expansion in North America
The supply contract—awarded by a major global energy firm—underlines the expanding demand for oil, gas, and energy transition infrastructure across North America.
To support growing demand, Welspun is also progressing on a $150 million expansion at its Little Rock site to add a Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded (LSAW) pipe mill. Once operational, the site will be the sole US facility capable of producing line pipes ranging from 6 to 56 inches in diameter.
“North America has been a strategically important market for us, and we have continued to invest ahead of the curve,” said B.K. Goenka, Chairman of Welspun World. “This landmark order reinforces our conviction in that strategy and positions us strongly to participate in the next phase of energy infrastructure development in the United States.”
While the revenue from this specific deal will begin reflecting on balance sheets starting in FY28, it substantially de-risks Welspun’s medium-term earnings trajectory while cementing its footprint in global energy transportation.
