The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has given the green light to two major corporate transactions, approving the Brookfield-Oaktree strategic partnership deal and the merger involving Go Digit.

    1. Brookfield and Oaktree Deal

    • Overview: The CCI approved the proposed transaction involving global alternative asset manager Brookfield and Oaktree Capital Management.

    • Impact: The partnership further cements Brookfield’s footprint in India’s growing credit, infrastructure, and alternative investment spaces, leveraging Oaktree’s expertise in distressed debt and credit markets.

    2. Go Digit Merger

    • Overview: The antitrust regulator cleared the merger proposal linked to tech-driven general insurer Go Digit.

    • Impact: The consolidation is expected to streamline operations, enhance financial strength, and bolster the company’s competitive position within India’s rapidly evolving insurtech and general insurance sector.
