🤝 US-China AI Talks and Diplomatic Focus
The positive momentum follows announcements by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Monday. Senior US and Chinese officials have agreed to reconvene in Shenzhen in approximately two months to discuss artificial intelligence risks and establish communication frameworks for potential AI safety incidents.
Bessent also struck an optimistic tone regarding the bilateral trade relationship ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the US from September 23 to 25 at the invitation of US President Donald Trump. While investors are adopting a measured view, attention remains locked on the symbolic potential of the meeting to build cooperative frameworks between the world’s two largest economies.
