Delhivery has launched “Abhyam,” a new comprehensive welfare program designed for its 1 lakh frontline (gig) workers. The initiative aims to provide a formal safety net for these workers, who often face significant financial vulnerability in the event of accidents or health crises.

Key Features of the ‘Abhyam’ Program:

    • Accidental Insurance: Provides coverage of up to ₹15 lakh for frontline workers.

    • Health Coverage: Includes family health insurance of up to ₹5 lakh, which covers the worker, their spouse, and up to two children.

    • Income-Loss Protection: Offers safeguards to prevent accidents on the road from creating a long-term financial crisis for the worker.

    • Additional Family Support: The program extends beyond immediate medical needs to include scholarships for workers’ children and vocational training opportunities for their spouses.

    • Financial Inclusion: Provides workers with access to formal credit channels.

The company noted that for gig workers, a single period of hospitalization can often wipe out months of earnings. By implementing this “best-in-class” support framework, Delhivery aims to provide stability for its workforce while maintaining high service standards.
